Looks like a flcikr wallpaper app for the Mac came out so lifehacker.com wrote an article about it and referenced my program for windows and another for linux. Normally I've been getting ~80 visitors to my rushfrisby.com site but after that I saw a spike of about 250+ for a few days. Yesterday someone on the German site, giga.de, linked to my program and today I saw the number of visitors jump to over 1000. By the end of the week it should have 30,000 downloads from my site alone. I can't keep track of all the other places it's downloadable from, but I'm guessing that it might have been downloaded another 5,000 times on other sites. It's funny to see the program get popular in a different country every few months. I usually get a steady flow of traffic from Brazil, Vietnam, and the US but then there are big spikes like this German one. Anyone want to take a stab at which country is next? It's a good think I optimized my site to load as fast as possible last week!
I probably have so many back links to my site now. I am waiting for the google page rank to jump up any time now but it's still stuck at 4. Maybe it's because I am getting links from other countries and google has page rankings pertaining to each country? Who knows, it's a mystery!
I am also thinking that I need to start on a good side project to try and make money for myself since I haven't had any freelance stuff in a while. I have a few ideas but they would all take a lot of time to build.
