Smack my sweet ass and call me broken

Last night Judy and I had taco's for dinner. We had no idea we were out of "Smack my sweet ass and call me sally" sauce so I ran to Tijuana Flats real quick and got 2 bottles. I got home and when I walked in Judy said "Did you know there is a hole in that bag?" and right at that moment one of the bottles dropped and shattered everywhere. The sticky sauce was all over the floor. I guess the paper bag had got wet when the lady gave it to me and couldn't handle the 3 minute ride home. So now we have one bottle.

Cady Way Bike Path

Using the tool eakxpa posted the link for I found out that the trail I like to run on is called "Cady Way Bike Path", probably because Cady Way Elementary school is in the middle of it. The trail goes a little further in both directions that I had thought. It is just over 9 miles long. I mapped it a little longer so that the trail ends at a church across the street from the real end. That way I can get water. It seems like the markers on this map match up with the markers that are along side the path. Pretty neat stuff!

Nike+iPod totally screwed up

Today I ran 4 miles. I have timed this run in my car and it is exactly 2.0 miles to the turn around spot. At the beginning of my runs now I pull off to a nice culdesac to stretch. This adds .1 to maybe .2 mi to my runs. Today's run was probably 4.1 or 4.2 miles. What does my Nike+iPod say it was? 3.79 miles! I ran it in 42 min 22 sec so that makes my pace 11 min 9 sec. I used a calculator online to see what it should have been with 4.1 miles and the pace came out to 10 min 20 sec. That is more like what I feel I am running at right now. I really need to calibrate this thing. It was raining when I came home today but stopped after 45 minutes so I started running at 7:30. It was nice and cool. Maybe I should go running at 7:30 more often!

6mi complete

This morning I was up early and went for a run at 6:30. At least I think that was the time I left. It wasn't early enough though because once the sun came up it was hot. Sunday's are my long run and today I had planed for 6 miles. I ran over to Goldenrod Park which is 1.2 miles away. I got some water and streched. When we lived in the apartments this is where I would run to before turning around on my 3 mile course. If you remember there is a pathway for runners and bikers that goes for a few miles. I followed that until I hit 3 miles and then turned around. The good thing about the path is that it has a few water fountains. The bad thing is that it starts off directly in line with the sun so either your back or your face is directly being hit by it. It makes a 90 degree turn but I didn't run far enough to hit that point. In two weeks when I run 8 miles I will get that far but I am hoping to leave a little earlier to avoid the sun. Along the pathway they must have put new markers. There is one just past Goldenrod Park marked at 6 1/4 mi. After that you have to cross the street (changes from Orange to Seminole county) and the trail continues but there aren't any more water fountains and I don't know if the trail is still marked. I don't know how far it goes into Seminole County either. The Orange county side of the trail ends about where our rehersal dinner will be.

5th sequence complete

This was the hardest one because it is tied for the longest song this year (3:42) and because it also has vocals that I time events to. It took a while to set those up but after that the sequencing went fast because of the effects I was doing. I think it came out pretty cool and will look different than the other songs.

4th sequence complete! wow fast

The 4th song was only 2 minutes and it looped about 30 seconds of it twice so it went really fast. I think it turned out the best so far though. It was one of those songs where the beat is very consistent and you can actually map out a good plan of what the lights should look like. Now I am on my 5th song but it is one of the longest and the beat is a little harder. I hope to get it done by next Monday.

Houston Marathon 2009

Houston marathonI registered to run in the Houston Marathon on January 18, 2009. I don't think I will play soccer next season so I can just do running. I've run a few times this week so I have already started. I need to calibrate my new nike+ipod because it is way off.

In other exciting news, Judy's wedding dress came in last weekend. She is going to try it on this weekend while her mother is in town. I also picked up a magazine at the grocery that said the new camaro should come out about this time next year. There will be three models initially:

  1. LS - 3.2L v6 220HP
  2. LT - 3.2L v6 (with direct injection) 300HP
  3. SS - 6.0L v8 405HP (the stock corvette engine)

The following year they are supposed to have a Z28 camaro with the LS9 engine (over 630HP) that is also being used in the 2009 Corvette ZR1. That is the sweetest car I've ever seen!

Florida mini and sequencing

Yesterday I took a trip over to Eustis, FL to a guy name Michael B's house. He is a member on PlanetChristmas.com who hosted a get together for all of the Planet Christmas members to meet and talk about stuff. Ron Lister who was also in the newspaper article back in December was there as were a lot of people who's displays I have seen online. I forgot his name but there was one guy who was on the HGTV christmas light special. Not only did he have a light display but he also did a water display in his pool! He let people go back there to watch it and had rows of seats and everything. It was pretty cool to meet these people. We had a few workshops and demo's and got to buy/trade Christmas stuff. I met an older couple who also lives in Winter Park so I will have to check out their display this year. Today I also finished sequencing my 2nd song. I have 12 or 13 total.

Paypal plugin is awesome

In an effort to ensure your credit card numbers are not stolen online, Paypal has released a new program that will generate single-use credit card numbers tied to your paypal account. I used it today for the first time and it is very cool. The program even auto-fills in the shipping/billing forms for you. Here is an article that has a little more info on it and the link to download.
