Today Judy and I went to our caterer and finalized the menu for the reception. It is really good stuff and is going to be awesome!

Yesterday Judy got some great news, she is the new "Consumer Marketing and Events Manager" for Dairy Farmers, Inc! She'll get her own office and get to plan some pretty cool events because they work with all three of Florida's NFL teams. I took her out to Cheesecake Factory last night to celebrate. Her office is also on the way to mine so that means we can car pool and have lunch together more. I am very excited and proud of her. Way to go Judy!

I decided to watched this movie last night after a blog post I read from Hap. I didn't know that the Wachowski brothers directed this movie. They made a name for themselves directing The Matrix and I think they did an awesome job with this one too. This movie has more amazing special effects than any other movie I've seen. When it came out I didn't want to watch it because of how colorful the scenes were but now that I've seen it I can say that it really didn't bother me. The whole movie was made with a cartoonish feel so it fits. The theme of the film is loyalty and family and has a good cast. I give it two thumbs up!

I changed my hack. I decided that the other one wouldn't go over well with the people who put this on. Instead I have been writing a .NET library for the BOSS API. BOSS is a search API that has 3 different types of search and a spelling suggestions tool. The 3 different searches are a web search, image search, and news search. Without a library to handle the searches, people would have to come up with their own quazzi-api anyways to call the API functions so what my library does is make other programmers lives easier (or give complete idiots the power to use the API). I am going to release it on my site later this week.

On another note: my flickr wallpaper rotator got it's 50,000th download this week.

Finally decided what I am going to do my hack on... it is going to take different rss/xml feeds that supply top movie and music titles and automatically download them through utorrent. I definately am not going to win anything except maybe the "Most illegal hack" award haha. Other than that it seems like this hackday is pretty good. There is a lot of differences than the last one. For instance last hackday in my registration packet I got a schedule of classes that were going on but this year I didn't... I had to go online to get it. I like that they had it printed out in 06. Also this year they checked ID's and gave out wrist bands and have people serving the beer. In 06 they just let anyone walk up and poor their own beer - lucky they didn't get a lawsuit on that one. This year they gave you the hackday t-shirt with your welcome package. Last year they just handed them out on the second day to anyone, probably because they ordered them late. This was good and bad, this year it was more organized but last year it meant I got 2 shirts. This year I liked how they gave you a card for free lunch on Friday afternoon. They've also kept a constant supply of pizza going all night, plus the beer, plus they have soda fountains and tea available 24/7. That's about all for now. I didn't go to the concert they had because it didn't look like it was anyone special performing. I setup my tent and it is getting cool out. I brought a sleeping bag but I don't know if that will be enough.

I will take a picture soon. Monday I painted the door red, like the color of our couch. It took a primer plus 3 coats and I think it looks really good. Judy started working on the base boards and got all of the family, dining, and hallway done. We also went couch shopping. We found a sleeper we like at rooms-to-go that we might get. That will go in the office and we'll move a desk out to the garage and the server to the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom we are looking to get a day bed with pullout. We might recover the chase and put in in there too then get the love seat to put in the family room and then put the server behind that instead. There are lots of possibilities. We also got curtains for our bedroom and put those up. They look good and are brown, gold, blue stripes that match the colors of our bed.

The biggest area of concern for me is the back yard because it needs a lot of work. Right now it is mostly dirt and rocks. I need to pull out 3 more trees (the bigger trees but not the huge trees). Then I need to setup the sprinklers so that they cover the yard better. Then I need to even out the dirt and put sod down. Doing all of that before Thanksgiving may be a little hard but I'm going to try!

Last week I also got my LED xmas lights so that is slowly coming together as well.
