Nike+iPod totally screwed up

Today I ran 4 miles. I have timed this run in my car and it is exactly 2.0 miles to the turn around spot. At the beginning of my runs now I pull off to a nice culdesac to stretch. This adds .1 to maybe .2 mi to my runs. Today's run was probably 4.1 or 4.2 miles. What does my Nike+iPod say it was? 3.79 miles! I ran it in 42 min 22 sec so that makes my pace 11 min 9 sec. I used a calculator online to see what it should have been with 4.1 miles and the pace came out to 10 min 20 sec. That is more like what I feel I am running at right now. I really need to calibrate this thing. It was raining when I came home today but stopped after 45 minutes so I started running at 7:30. It was nice and cool. Maybe I should go running at 7:30 more often!

I think this is extremely accurate for measuring routes. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

That is a neat tool. It actually says the distance is longer, 4.3134 miles, not counting the small detour to get to my stretching spot.

It said my run on Sunday was 6.7148 miles! I think I am going to calibrate my Nike+iPod tomorrow. The short distances aren't bad but .1 over adds up after a few.
